Bio & lore
As the first avatar in the Hit Mecca Songs universe, Indigo Loxie grew up in the shadow of South Carolina's shipyard cranes, hearing music in the clack-and-hum of the salvage yards, a sound the old-timers called the Rust Choirs. Her booming, regal voice draws from that rhythm and from soul powerhouses like Ma Rainey and Aretha Franklin. That voice carried her from Charleston dive bars through Nashville, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and New York to Washington, D.C., where she now sings empowerment songs for the everyday person, from the farmland to our nation's biggest cities.
Her debut single "Where Are You" is a powerful rock ballad that’s unapologetic about expressing the deep emotion of missing the one you love. Written by Harriett Roberts and Alex F. Nesmith, the track showcases Indigo’s booming voice and raw emotional vulnerability.
